Snake by Ashish Kumar

Theme: Logical

Author/Opus: This is the 22nd puzzle from our contributing puzzlemaster Ashish Kumar.

Rules: Shade some cells to create a one-cell wide snake in the grid that does not cross or touch itself, not even diagonally. The snake starts and ends at the gray circles. The numbers on the outside of the grid indicate how many cells the snake occupies in that row or column.

Answer String: For each cell in the marked rows, enter a capital letter X if it is part of the snake or a capital letter O if it is not part of the snake. Separate each row’s entry with a comma. An example entry is “OOXXXXXOXO,XXXOOOOOXX”

Time Standards (highlight to view): Grandmaster = 1:30, Master = 2:15, Expert = 4:30

Schedule for Next Week

Our last week of Sudoku variations (Arrow, Thermo, and Even/Odd) can be found in this PDF.

This would normally be our “off week”, but we are going to post our next week early and take the following week off instead. We want to start the second half of the year early with the debut of a new puzzlemaster and an extra-large week. Please welcome Ashish Kumar as the next contributing puzzlemaster to GMPuzzles. Ashish is already the author of two e-book collections for us, Nurikabe which has been in our estore for a few months and Skyscrapers which has just been added. We have a set of 12 puzzles from Ashish for his debut week.

Our master+ subscribers will be receiving a bonus Snake puzzle and a bonus Gaps puzzle, both by Ashish Kumar, as well as access to the puzzle solutions and a walkthrough video of the Thursday puzzle. Our grandmaster-level subscribers, who receive our e-books first, got Ashish’s Skyscrapers book several months ago. If you want to become a subscriber and get access to bonus puzzles, solutions, e-books, and other rewards, check out this page.
