    It felt weird. I got a (the?) solution, by some sort of reasoning, without any trial and error. Or did I just get lucky? I’m not sure.

    Pentominous, especially the Borders variation, is one puzzle that one can try this fun exercise with – solving it in the head, no paper no applet. I tried and it worked just well. Nice flow. The repeated bits of logic around the bottom of the box felt a lot more cute than they would have, for instance, in a fillomino.

    The theme has more to it than meets the eye. I have just as many goodies falling out of the (gift) box as I can use. Or was it unintended?
