My comment is not about the puzzle. I got the US Sudoku Team Q. Test. It was incredible! I loved your Classic Sudokus! Of course not just Classics, each Sudoku in the test was amazing! I mentioned before, nearly two weeks ago I’ve started to solve Sudoku for getting better. Frankly I didn’t like Sudoku much until now. But now, I feel that Sudoku solving is fun 🙂 After meeting your Classics in the test, I said to myself, you should order Thomas’s Classic Sudoku book. As soon as possible I’ll get that. I’m sure I will have a good time with your book.
Thanks for the kind words Serkan. I learned many tricks about writing sudoku while making ‘The Art of Sudoku’ and I definitely think my classic puzzles now stand out pretty well with their own feel, sometimes in the look of the design and often, as on the US Qualifier, in the logic of the design too. That most of the sudoku you encounter are probably not constructed in such an elegant way with the solver in mind may be why you have never been as excited by them before.
