I was definitely more surprised by the Valentine in the Braille Sudoku at LMI this past weekend (not to mention the Valentine’s Day Tapa in the CTC the other year).

Would not doing a heart have been more surprising? I knew this would be quite predictable but the joy of this puzzle was not meant to be in the surprise.

Happy Valentines day! I’ve solved all of your sudokus in here and they are all great. It’s different (In a good way) to solve handcrafted sudoku and you give us this opportunity. We all appreciate this. Also it feels good to be a grandmaster valentines sudoku solver (2:33) 🙂

In Love with this sudoku variant!!!:)

  • I wish I’d used a stopwatch for this one; I solved it in the passenger seat of the car on our way up to Lake Tahoe and I think my time was pretty good. There’s a lot of fairly quick deductions to be made here; probably half the digits I wrote in without first having any other notations or candidates listed. The way the 1s, 2s, and 4s fit together at the end was particularly nice. Was this a 2/14 date reference hidden or am I reading too much into it?
