Author/Opus: This is the 1st puzzle from guest contributor Swaroop Guggilam.

Rules: Standard Nurikabe rules.

Answer String: Enter the length in cells of each of the black segments (the unnumbered, connected “ocean”) from left to right for the marked rows. Separate each row’s entry from the next with a comma.

Time Standards (highlight to view): Grandmaster = 2:30, Master = 4:30, Expert = 9:00

    Interesting puzzle. I sort of intuited my way to the arrangement of islands that worked in the upper left, but I’m not entirely sure what the logic was that I should have been using to get there more directly.

      Hi,
      Sorry for late reply.
      It can definitely be solved completely by logic and intuitive way is not required for this puzzle. I will give few steps not complete walkthrough though.

      Assuming after bit of solving like r7c4 “4” clue can be completely solved. Also clue “21” can be solved with just two cells to be decided in bottom right part.

      Important thing to notice is 5 cannot be completely left and cannot be complete right so r5c3 and r5c5 will be part island “5”.
      Also soon you will realize that r1c4 clue “4” cannot go towards left and has to go completely right.
      After this it should be easy to finish.
      I leave up to you to find out the logic behind this. Let me know if still any concerns.
